Methods for neutralizing ROS and RCS with natural antioxidants and antioxidant dietary supplements

 

Having identified the ROS and RCS in various space missions, the risk of their failure will be eliminated by neutralizing the ROS and RCS with non-toxic/corrosive chemical antioxidants.

Indicative space applications and services

To protect astronauts’ health from dust that penetrates the suits and the air filtration system, the filtering systems of space bases and stations, spacecraft, rovers, airplanes, etc.

Neutralization of biotoxic contamination from cosmic dusts in water used for drinking, rehydrating dried foods, watering greenhouses, bathing, etc. The biotoxic DMOs and DMXs formed in the water will be neutralized by adding special natural antioxidants to it, which, in addition, will be beneficial for the health of astronauts.

Improving the astronauts’ diet to maintain their health , by supplementing it with natural antioxidants.

It is noted that the astronauts’ diet is adapted to Earth’s environmental conditions, and not to their daily exposure to highly oxidizing cosmic radiation and dust during space missions.

Development of special antioxidant ointments to be applied to the skin of astronauts, to protect it from exposure to cosmic radiation and dust by neutralizing the carcinogenic ROS that are created in the skin.

Protection, from ROS and RCS, of the biosignatures sought in space missions to discover extraterrestrial life on Mars, Enceladus, Europa. The detection of ROS and RCS is preceded at the detection points selected by the missions.

Chemical reagents in analytical instruments involved in any type of space mission will receive similar protection with antioxidants.
